Crisp Apple Pie & Brown Sugar Crumb Top

Apple pie IS my favorite pie. I don’t think I like any other pie quite as much. This pie recipe has been perfected over the years, trying different apples and different variations. This recipe is my final perfection, served just the way Joel and I like it. It’s also extremely easy to make!

6 Granny Smith Apples (washed, peeled, cored, and sliced)
1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of white sugar
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1 pie shell (can buy or make your own)

Preheat the oven to 375.
Prepare 1 pie shell into a pie dish and set aside.
Toss apples the prepared apples in a bowl with the lemon juice
In a separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients, then pour over apples and toss to coat evenly.
Pour apples into the prepared pie shell.

Crumb top —
3/4 cup of all-purpose flour
1/4 cup of white sugar
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/3 cup of butter, melted

Combine all ingredients then crumble over pie.
Place the pie in the oven and bake for 30 minutes- [if the edges are looking too brown then carefully remove the pie from the oven, cover the edges with foil and place back in the oven for another 15 minutes.
Let the pie cool for 15-20 minutes to let it settle before serving.

Serve and enjoy!
